I met a heron, obviously feeling the heat, it was panting, whilst walking along the river path on Marston Marsh...
... As I edged a little closer instead of flying off, it walked off down the path for a short distance...
... before eventually flying up into a nearby tree...
... from where it grunted at me. I left it alone so as not to cause it any more stress than necessary. Even water birds are feeling the heat.
