15/05/2024 - Banded Demoiselle, Orange-tip and Sedge Warbler on Bowthorpe Marsh yesterday.
13/05/2024 - A Sixteen-spot Ladybird.
12/05/2024 - Some insects locally from last week: White-shouldered House Moth, Soldier Beetle (Cantharis rustica) and a Greater Bulb Fly.
A trip out today to Hickling Broad and environs. New pictures of Greenshank, Common Crane, Bittern, Sedge Warbler, Yellowhammer, Rook, Four-spotted Chaser and Broad-bodied Chaser.
03/05/2024 - A singing Reed Bunting on Bowthorpe Marshes last Tuesday.
01/05/2024 - A pair of Common Terns in Bowthorpe, yesterday.
29/04/2024 - A damp morning in Suffolk yesterday. New pictures of Waxwings, Greenfinch, Jackdaw, Robin, Whitethroat and Stonechat.
This morning, the sun came out, it actually felt warm out of the wind and, lo! Insects! Alderfly, Orange-tip and Large Red Damselfly on a walk to Whitlingham. A Tufted Duck on the Great Broad.
27/04/2024 - The dreary weather continues. Through the gloom, a white male Pheasant.
16/04/2024 - A fantastic trip to RSPB Frampton on Sunday. Pictures of only a fraction of the things we saw. New to the site, Black Tern. New picture of Little Egret, Little Gull, Common Crane and Shoveler.
Meanwhile, at home, a tiny beetle, Tillus elongatus.
13/04/2024 - Along the Yare Valley yesterday. A Reed Bunting and Green Woodpecker on Marston Marsh. A Kestrel and Greenfinch on Eaton Common.
11/04/2024 - A White-lipped Snail in the garden. A robin Singing on Mile Cross Marsh.
10/04/2024 - One of the allotment Robins and Fledgling. The first Woodlouse Spider picture for seven years!
08/04/2024 - Time to catch up with the last ten days. The great White Egret favouring its usual location in Bowthorpe Southern Park. A Greater-spotted Woodpecker. Commas in Earlham Cemetery and down by the river. A Cream-spot Ladybird. A Blue Tit and Robin and at the allotment this morning.
29/03/2024 - A Distressed Buff-tailed Bumblebee given aid this morning. An early Specked Wood. Magpies at the allotment.
23/03/2024 - A Chiffchaff in Train Wood and a Ring-necked Parakeet on Marston Marsh.
19/03/2024 - A visit to NWT Cley Marshes on Sunday. New pictures of Pintail, Teal, Spoonbill and Pied Wagtail. Two species new to the site, a splendid Red-breasted Goose and a rather sleepy Long-billed Dowitcher. The picture of the latter is probably the most underwhelming on the entire site!
